What are the main differences between kayaking and rowing?

Many people don’t know the difference between kayaking and rowing. They don’t know what kayaking is and what rowing is. In fact, the main difference between kayak and rowing lies in the way athletes ride in the boat and the way they exercise in the boat. Kayak: Athletes “sit in the boat and row alternately left and right with an oar with blades at both ends”; Move the boat forward. Rowing: the athlete “kneels in the boat on one knee and paddles on the side of the rower with a single leaf Paddle” to make the boat move forward.

The international kayak competition consists of three sub events: single person kayak, double person kayak and four person kayak. The initial letter of “kayaks” in Eskimo language of “kayak” and the Arabic numerals of the number of people on the kayak are used as the code, which are represented by “K1”, “K2” and “K4” respectively.

There are two kinds of rowing events in the Olympic Games, single and double. The first letter of the English name “canoes” and the Arabic numerals of the number of people on the boat are taken as the code, which are expressed by “C1” and “C2” respectively.

In fact, kayaking and rowing are also collectively referred to as kayaking. Kayak originated from a small boat made by the Eskimos in Greenland. This boat is wrapped on the bone shelf with whale skin and otter skin and rowed with oars with blades at both ends. Kayak originated in Canada, so it is also called Canadian rowing. In fact, both boats evolved from canoes.
